A new path;

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and...well with all the stuff going on with my sister, and with her friends and I know so many other people who suffer depression, anxiety, self harm...everything...And...I just....with all this, so close to home, and also going through depression myself, I know what it feels like.

So, after my degree I think I might still do teaching, and then after that, if I can afford it, do some papers in Psycology, or counsiling or mental health or SOMETHING.
Because, I just...It sounds weird, but I feel like I'm being called to do this.
I've always wanted to help people in some way, and i just..feel like this is the way to do it.
To show people who suffer that through music, drama, art, photography, and through God. You can overcome anything....
I don't know.. I just...it feels like it's what I have to do.
I don't know how I'm going to do it, but where there's a will, there's a way.

So yep, thats my goal.
Long term.
Whatever...I just, don't know how it will happen, but I need to help my sister.
I need to show her that she doesn't have to cut to relieve her frustration and pain and what not.
I need to get her better.
I just need to help.

365 Day Challenge: Day 17

Day 17: Your Idol and why I look up to them.

I wouldn't exactly say I have an "idol". But someone I look up to is my Mother.
She has been through a lot, she gives so much, and means well with everything she does.
She stuck by me through so much when I was little, and she still does. She supports and supported me in everything. she drove me to all my after school activities, payed the bills, did my hair, made me costumes. She did and still does so much for me. And I've also learnt a lot from her.   I guess you could say I have learned through her mistakes and her successes
I really don't know what I'd do without my Mum.
Love you Mum!

New Years Resolutions!

2012 went off to a good start!
I had a great NYE with my friends and boyfriend, a wonderful new years day!

Pretty much this post is about my new years resolutions, goals, whatever you want to call them.
:)

SO!

  1.  NO JUNK FOOD! Only subway! No McDonalds, K-fry, pizza, hot chips etc etc etc.. *guulp*
  2. Exercise. I've said this tons, I mean it this year! I need to loose this stomach of mine..
  3. No nail bitting.... Okay, this one I've done every year since i was 13....still to no Avail. Serious faces now, it;s onnn.
  4. Become closer to God. I really want to focus this year on building a Closer relationship with God, Hopefull with the help of my boyfriend, and the Bible he got me. I can do that (:
  5. Get back into singing and theatre related stuff. This..i think will be hard, because I have convinced myself that I can't sing anymore...and I need to rebuild my confidence for being on stage again.
So yes, those are my 5 resolutions for this year!
Hopefully I come out on top!

This year is also going to be tough because of a few things.

Like, I will only be working probably 1 or 2 days a week, which means not that much income.
Also, just the fact I will be working in a new place, with unfamiliar people scares the pants of me!
This year I guess, will also be a test for my relationship. But we did it for six months last year, so we can do it this year. :D
A new year, more work at Uni, different hours, I'll have a flat to look after, and have to be paying all the stuff for my car.
Lets see how  2012 unfolds...

Peace out
Mik

Christmas time

I used to LOVE Christmas time when I was a kid.
When mum and dad were still together, us kids would always wake up on Christmas morning and wait untill 8.30-9 when Mum and Dad would get home from Milking the cows and then we would open the doors to the lounge (Dad would lock them) and we would open presents and drink hot chocolate.
Then, we would either go to my Nanas for Christmas lunch or my Aunties, or have it our house.
Then we would do more presents, and go home later in the evening to prepare for Boxing day, which we spent with dad's side of the family.
Anyway, the first Christmas in 2007, after they split up was painful.
A lot of the christmas's after that were too.
Especially when Baz came into the picture.
I hardly see any of my cousins these days, even though I live fairly close to them.

It seems to me Christmas time now is all about consumerism.
It used to be about Family and fun and of course, the gift God gave to us. His son. Jesus.

So, I guess you could say, I kind of dislike Christmas. Just a little bit, because I don't get to see any of my other family.
However, this post isn't really about that.
I know that i have it so much better than a lot of other people.
Some people can't see family because they live in a different country, or perhaps their family died.
Some people don't even get presents or food at Christmas, so it makes you think how lucky we all are to have a roast chicken, and a tree and presents to open.

I hope people read this and realize what they have, and how lucky you are.
That you should appreciate everything at Christmas time. because some people just aren't lucky enough to get it.

Also, I hope all of you remember, the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of Jesus Christ, and how he was sent to save us from our sins.

Other than that, I wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas.

:)
