Christmas time

I used to LOVE Christmas time when I was a kid.
When mum and dad were still together, us kids would always wake up on Christmas morning and wait untill 8.30-9 when Mum and Dad would get home from Milking the cows and then we would open the doors to the lounge (Dad would lock them) and we would open presents and drink hot chocolate.
Then, we would either go to my Nanas for Christmas lunch or my Aunties, or have it our house.
Then we would do more presents, and go home later in the evening to prepare for Boxing day, which we spent with dad's side of the family.
Anyway, the first Christmas in 2007, after they split up was painful.
A lot of the christmas's after that were too.
Especially when Baz came into the picture.
I hardly see any of my cousins these days, even though I live fairly close to them.

It seems to me Christmas time now is all about consumerism.
It used to be about Family and fun and of course, the gift God gave to us. His son. Jesus.

So, I guess you could say, I kind of dislike Christmas. Just a little bit, because I don't get to see any of my other family.
However, this post isn't really about that.
I know that i have it so much better than a lot of other people.
Some people can't see family because they live in a different country, or perhaps their family died.
Some people don't even get presents or food at Christmas, so it makes you think how lucky we all are to have a roast chicken, and a tree and presents to open.

I hope people read this and realize what they have, and how lucky you are.
That you should appreciate everything at Christmas time. because some people just aren't lucky enough to get it.

Also, I hope all of you remember, the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of Jesus Christ, and how he was sent to save us from our sins.

Other than that, I wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas.

:)
